Town of Nanton—Where History Lives
 | |
Welcome to the Town of Nanton. This small town offers its residents the comfort and security inherent of a small community. Recent new residential growth and development has invited those who are seeking these characteristics while still enjoying close proximity to larger centres for employment. Older, quiet residential areas lend to a quiet, peaceful atmosphere. As this town continues to grow, many job opportunities will be presented within our own community. The historic downtown area is rich with the heritage of the area, reinforcing the motto of the town, “Where History Lives”.
The Town of Nanton boasts many sport facilities, including the Tom Hornecker Recreation Centre, the Nanton Golf Course and the Nanton Agricultural Grounds. A public library for those in pursuit of quieter activities is conveniently located close to Main Street. Many facilities exist for our seniors, including a senior’s lodge, recreation centre and other community resources such as “Meals on Wheels”. Nanton is proud to have two schools, A. B. Daley for kindergarten to grade six, and J. T. Foster High School for grades seven to twelve. Both schools have active band, athletic and scholastic programs. Special activities and attractions are ongoing during the year.
With the surrounding open prairies to the east, picturesque, rolling foothills to the west, easy access to larger centres to the north and close proximity to the U.S. to the south, Nanton offers country charm with affordable small town living. Please accept our invitation to stop by and visit, maybe you will even consider staying longer…
