Emergency Water Restrictions – Level 2

(Nanton) – The Town of Nanton has implemented Emergency Water Restrictions – Level 2 effective July 28, 2010 until further notice.  This restriction is required to as a result of a temporary decrease in the capacity of the Town of Nanton Water Treatment Plant.

As per Town of Nanton Water Conservation Bylaw 1202/09, Emergency Water Restrictions Level 2 are as follows:

EMERGENCY WATER RESTRICTIONS – LEVEL 2

All outdoor water use is prohibited.  Household and non-residential use is controlled through district flow restrictions (reduced pressures subject to Fire Services review and approval).

Bulk water sales are suspended.

Water restrictions have no impact on the quality of water provided to the community.  The Town of Nanton is using all available resources to bring the production capacity of the Water Treatment Plant to normal levels as soon as possible.

“Our operators are working with our engineers, operators from neighboring municipalities and contracted experts in water treatment to restore our plants capacity” states Chief Administrative Officer Brad Mason.

Mayor John Blake adds “Water restrictions are unfortunate but necessary at this time.  We ask all water users in the Town cooperate with the restrictions, and to further assist us by conserving water whenever possible.”

The Town encourages all water users to conserve water at all times and appreciates your patience and co-operation during this time period.
Thank you!
