Roads

The Public Works Department is responsible for the maintenance and repair of the Town’s roads, sidewalks and walkways.  This responsibility includes snow clearing, street sweeping, road and alley grading, as well as the operation, maintenance and repair of the equipment related to these projects.

Environmental Facilities

The Town Crew manages and maintains the water treatment plant and the sanitary sewer treatment plant.  Careful computerized monitoring and maintenance of these newly upgraded facilities ensures the highest quality of standards being delivered to our taxpayers.  Stormwater drainage patterns are also an important aspect of the Public Works Department.

Composting

With training provided by Olds College, the Public Works Crew has established a composting area for the Town of Nanton residents.  Tree branch trimmings and grass clippings are accepted beside the Recycling Depot, located at 1914 – 19 Avenue.  Residents may obtain mulch from this location, when available.
