According to Section 3.10 of the Town of Nanton’s Animal Control
Bylaw #1100, “The owner of every dog must obtain an annual
license pursuant to Section 3.9 on or before the 31st
day of January in each calendar year. The owner of all dogs
newly acquired or an owner that takes up residence in the Town
after January 31st, or owner of dogs that attain the
age of three months after January 31st must obtain a
license within seven (7) days following such an event.

Although the Town of Nanton does not currently have a Cat Bylaw
in place, the Town would like to remind all cat owners to be
responsible with their pets. The Animal Protection Society
can be contacted at (403) 646-3399 as it may have information
regarding stray cats, or other pets.
