The Town of Nanton is responsible for Residential garbage pickup within the Town - this service is contracted to WSI from Calgary.  Residential pickup is conducted on Mondays, including holidays, unless otherwise specified.  Each residence is permitted three bags of garbage, which must be contained in a covered receptacle.  The Town of Nanton encourages the use of the recycling depot to reduce waste; however, should you require more than 3 bags to be picked up, Excess Garbage tags are available for $2.00 each. The garbage pick up begins early Monday morning, so residents may consider putting out their refuse the night before. 

The Town of Nanton may accept certain appliance and furniture items for pickup.  Should you require pickup and disposal of these items, please call the Town Office to make arrangements and inquire regarding rates.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding your pick up, please call the Town Office at (403) 646-2029.  We will redirect the collectors to your residence as soon as possible.  The current bimonthly charge for residential garbage collection is $15.00 per levy (for a two month period).

The Town of Nanton is not responsible for arrangements in regards to Commercial or Industrial garbage services.  These services must be arranged by the individual businesses.

The Town’s residential garbage is taken to the Foothills Regional Landfill Site.  The Foothills Regional Waste Management Facility is centrally located on Secondary Highway 783 -- approximately 3.5 miles south of Okotoks and Highway 7.
